The horizontal stabilizer central box borescope inspection was called out in SB-80-0489, issued in April 2022, and subsequently inserted into the Chapter 5 inspection program, which is a concern for all operators. Piaggio, SimsAir, and its vendors are avidly working on a repair solution for operators with Level 3 corrosion. The new FAA AD 2023-16-04 (HTTA Lower Fitting Corrosion) is a big concern for Piaggio. SimsAir and its vendors are currently working on a solution for replacing those fittings that failed the inspection with one that terminates the AD per SB-80-0493 R2.
